Discover my path from mechatronics and cybersecurity to becoming Co-founder and CTO at Qleer, building useful AI products and contributing to open source.
Hi, I'm Valentin Chmara, Co-founder and CTO at Qleer. I'm a software and product engineer from France, and my path started in mechatronics. A deep interest in technology led me through projects in robotics, cybersecurity, and AI before I fully embraced software development.
My journey into programming began with the Root-Me community when I was in high school, where I discovered the joy of solving technical challenges through Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions. During my engineering studies, I worked on several exciting robotics projects that taught me how hardware and software intersect to create real-world solutions.
I wasn’t satisfied with just surface-level knowledge in AI and deep learning, so I took things further by following the MIT Deep Learning course online, a resource I still highly recommend.
Over the years, I transitioned from tinkering with technology to building digital products used by real businesses. I launched SWAI Agency to help small businesses adopt AI and automation. In 2026, I closed the agency and joined one of its former clients as Co-founder and CTO at Qleer. Qleer builds AI software for the Testing, Inspection & Certification industry, accelerating technical-file analysis and conformity-report generation. It is now my full-time focus, and I no longer accept client work or job opportunities.
Beyond my own tools, I actively contribute to projects I admire like Nuxt, Supabase, Cal.com, and more. Sharing knowledge and improving the tools I use daily is something I truly care about.

My approach
My philosophy is to solve real problems with minimal friction. I believe that technology should serve clarity, not complexity, and that fast iterations, honest feedback, and sharp UI make all the difference. Whether it's launching a SaaS MVP or creating internal tools that save teams hours a week, I care deeply about delivering value. I favor autonomy, clean interfaces, and purposeful features. I'm especially proud when my work helps small businesses punch above their weight thanks to better tools.What keeps me going

I keep its story as a case study in building and growing a niche SaaS.
